Nautical Science Cruise on Lake Erie

Take a two-hour educational journey aboard the Spirit of Buffalo. This trip is focused on nautical science and the history of our surrounding area. Students participate in hands-on activities including: team building (sail setting), navigation, mechanical advantage with use of simple machines, buoyancy, nautical terminology, and sail theory.

This trip is hands-on, using small groups on board.

Field Trip in Buffalo, NY

This two-hour field trip is designed for larger groups. Our on-board educator gives a narration with question and answer periods throughout. We include topics such as nautical terminology, Buffalo’s waterfront history, types of vessels that used the Buffalo Harbor, and sail theory. Other topics can be incorporated to the trip, let us know what you would like to be covered so we cater the educational trip to your needs.
